Sheet Masks 101: How, When, and Why to Use Them

Sheet masks are the product most people associate with Korean skincare — and for good reason. A soaked fabric or gel sheet delivers a concentrated dose of serum directly to the skin, held in place long enough to actually absorb.
When to Use One
Sheet masks work best 2-3 times a week, not daily — using one too often can over-hydrate and disrupt your skin's balance. They're also great right before a big event for an instant glow.
Where They Go in Your Routine
Apply a sheet mask after cleansing and toning, but before your regular serum and moisturizer. Your skin needs to be clean for the mask's ingredients to absorb properly, and you still want to seal everything in with moisturizer afterward.
How Long to Leave It On
Most sheet masks are designed for 10-15 minutes. Leaving one on too long (or until it dries out completely) can actually pull moisture back out of your skin — set a timer and remove it while it's still damp.
What to Do With the Leftover Essence
Don't rinse it off. Gently pat the remaining serum into your skin, neck, and even the back of your hands — there's no reason to waste it.
Choosing the Right Mask for Your Skin
Look for hydrating formulas (hyaluronic acid, snail mucin) if your skin is dry or dull, soothing formulas (centella, cica) if it's sensitive or irritated, and brightening formulas (vitamin C, niacinamide) for uneven tone. Explore our full range of sheet masks to find your match.
